Blogger Interview: This Hipster Writes

Hello guys! I've come back with something a little different... I came up with the idea of interviewing a blogger for once a month and this is going to be an annual thing. I've managed to contact one of my first bloggers that I follow, because I fell in love with her previous blog called "Little Vogue Book" which was a beauty and fashion blog, so when I sent her a list of questions she just told me that she has a new blog which is as awesome as the former one. So check my questions that Azia or Kat has kindly answered!

this hipster writes

Hi, Azia can you tell us a little about yourself?
Well I'm technically a freshman as ive graduated from eight grade #freshie. And I love to blog as you can see. My type of music would have to be rock/pop. Some of my fave artist are Evanescence, Icon For Hire, and Florrie.

When did you start blogging?
I've been blogging for like the longest. Maybe since 2011 but I've never really had a secure blog until this year.

Why did you start blogging?
Because I've always had a passion for blogging and I love to tell people about my life. Also I love to inspire people.

What's your (previous) blog 'little vogue book' about?
It was a fashion/beauty blog but it was really hard to keep up with both so I sadly deleted this blog #sorrynotsorry . But "This Hipster Writes" is still up!

I saw that you have a new blog too, tell us a little about thishipsterwrites!
It's a lifestyle blog. I just post whatever I want on there. Tips, fashion, diy's, journals, reviews, selfies etc.

What's the meaning behind your title of your blog?
This Hipster Writes - Everyone always calls me a hipster because of the way that I dress, and I love to write poetry and such. So I titled my blog This Hipster Writes.

What's your favorite blogs right now?
Yours of course! And I'm totally digging Hello, CathyThe Joys of Being Paige, And Laugh 'an Love.

If everything was free in this world, what would you do? or buy?
I would buy loads of makeup and clothes lol. Especially clothes from Forever 21, Wet Seal, Urban Outfitters, Rue 21, Top Shop, and Fresh Tops.

What's your advice for new bloggers?
Just be yourself, because I see a lot of bloggers trying to be other people. No one wants to see a copycat blog. < trust me! Make your blog unique then build off of that. I promise your hard work will pay off.

Tell us your favorite song that describe you or your life right now!
I think it would have to be "Live a Little" by Florrie because this summer I just want to let loose and LIVE A LITTLE! Just have fun and explore a bit.

Meet Azia of This Hispter Writes!

so that's it and I hope you check her out because she is friendly and awesome and she runs an amazing blog with amazing contents too! :)

Until the next one guys!

Natural - No Make Up - Make up Look!

Hello guys! Today I thought I'll share my natural and no make up, make up look that I've been loving for everyday wear. It's crazy easy, this needs probably like 10 minutes - 15 minutes tops.Wearable for anywhere, like school, work and oh probably mostly when you are late to somewhere and you only have a little bit of time.. this will do! It'll make you look decent in the shortest time. So here's it:

1. Benefit Hello Flawless and Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation : I use these on my clean, moisturized face, Sometimes I use both or just one of them depends how my face, use any foundation that's easy to blend, and use hands to blend in, it'll save time.
2. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer : I apply this under my eyes, all the imperfect spots, also on my eyes lid, with patting this product into your skin.
3. Maybelline Master Brow in grey color : Just use this on my brow, following my natural eyebrows, just fill the eyebrows in, avoid making the arch too high
4. Make Up Academy "Undress Me Too" Palette : Using my eyeshadow brush, I take the color "Lavish" from the palette and just apply it on my crease. I don't wear anymore eyeshadow, just this to add depth on my eyes. After applying, take your blending brush and just blend.
5. Revlon ColorStay Crayon Eyeliner in black brown : apply this on the lash line, apply this thicker on the end of the eye, then pick a blending brush or eye shadow brush then smudge it a little, so it doesn't look harsh and more natural also giving thicker lashes illusion.
6. Maybelline The Magnum Volum Express Mascara : after curling my lashes and put powder on my lashes (for lashes to appear more fuller) I apply this mascara, I only use one coat to stick to natural look.
7. NYX LipLiner Pencil in Peek-a-Boo Natural and Make Over Lipgloss : I apply lipliner on my lips, the pink is so natural and pretty and add lipgloss on top of it.

So that's how I did it, and it turn out to be like something like this;

You barely can tell I put my make up on, and I don't know this is how it look like on the photo, in real life it's more visible in natural kind of way.

This is for today, I'll you guys very soon

Review: Nature Republic and Esfolio Aloe Vera Gel

Hello guys! I'm back with a beauty review. As you know already, I have been reviewing a lot of products that we all already know but today, I'm going to tell you about products from Korea that I've been loving.
My mom went to Korea a few months ago, and I wasn't too keen on these products that I don't know and never heard of but when I tried it all, I love them all! They really make good beauty products there and my mom said they were all very cheap.

So this is got to be my favorite moisturizer of all time. They are two different brands but I find nothing different at all about the product, the smell, the gel feels all the same to me. So my old one which I'm running out of, is the one on right from Nature Republic, and the new one is from Esfolio. Of course it says the Nature Republic is like 92% of Aloe Vera and the other is like 100% which is probably better but really it's hard to tell the different.

So these products comes with a giant green pot, it contains a lot of product, it can lasts up to 6 months and maybe more. That depends on how much you use it on daily basis because you just want to put this everywhere! The gel itself is a clear no color gel, which I don't know why but always managed to feel cool on the skin and it's very soothing.

There a re lots of benefits of aloe vera gel, like it can helps calm the skin from sunburn, it prevents and treats acnes, a great moisturizer because my face always feels so hydrated after using this. Not only the face you can use it for  body too, your nail even your hair. Do you know that Aloe vera gel is also good for primer before putting make up on? It doesn't even stop there that the result of its treatment even lasts after you stop you using this, leaving your face has this healthy glow and clear.

I put this on every day after I shower before putting my make up on, as a moisturizer and also a primer and then at night before I go to sleep. The result is magnificent, I don't have anymore acnes, my skin is not dry but not oily either (which my skin is combination of both) because it doesn't have oil in it just hydrating my face. My skin feel so smooth and clear and even a bit brighter.

I'd love to tell you the negatives side of this product too to be fair but I don't have one because I just love it so much!

I don't know if there are any stores near you to try this ones out but there's always online shopping. These are really worth every penny.

So that's it for today guys, I hope you enjoy your Friday!
until next time,

With Love,

Things I learned throughout highschool

So this... definitely not a beauty post, this is kind of an advice post, I don't know.. I'm just kind of sharing these things that I know now.. how to get through highschool or what I wish I knew in highchool, I hope that maybe it can be helpful to some of you guys

First, learning is important. I am not a big believer on having fantastic grades is related to being successful in life. So, that's why I think I didn't put so much effort at school. I've seen a lot of people cheating for the sake of getting good grades. For me personally, you pay for school for its education, to get you to know things. I feel it now, I actually have to review things that I shouldve mastered in my junior year to get into university. For systems that only use transcript, well you gotta pay attention for that. I mean this whole grade and learn things is the point of highschool originally. It wouldn't hurt to be smart.

Second, It's okay to be you, however you are. I know we have these labels on people at highschool. I was the invisible. I actually have had people talking to someone when I was literally between them or being skipped on at a circle. That's me, and sometimes it feels like a punch in the gut but other times I feel safe not being seen. At the end of the day, you've got only you. Changing who you are to please people or to blend in doesn't worth a dime. I mean well, if you want to, I guess why not. changing isn't always bad. But to be what you are not and what you don't want to be for other people? always say no.

Third, What they say doesn't matter, I use to worry about a lot of crazy things. I don't wanna speak up in class because people will stare, uh.. yeah so what if they stare? they'll get over it. Worrying about my clothes, my bag, who I've been seen with, it's crazy. You should do whatever you want (that doesn't break the law and rules) and no one especially your peer group who has the same rights as you stopping you from doing something. They are just people, they don't actually care. People are gonna talk anyway, so there's no right or wrong if you wanna do things your way.

Fourth, It's okay not to get in relationship, one time I had to walk out of class because there are only couples sucking faces in the room. Yeah, it's the trending topic. Who gets who, what they do, what have they done. I actually am happy I've been spared from all those crap. I mean opportunities might come and it's easy to get in a relationship just because you want to be in one or people seem to expect you to do that because it seems like everyone is doing it, but it is fine to be single! yes all your highschool life. If you like him then go ahead but if you're looking for status? It's not worth it.

Fifth, Be civilized is important, just be polite you know. I don't meant to be two faced to people, but if you don't like someone, as honest as you are as a person. Just don't get in trouble, because you make it. I don't like several people in my school but we just don't go "Hey I don't like you, get lost" when they do something annoying. But if they make a move on you, then you have the right to do something about it.

Sixth, Be friends with who you want to be friends with, I have seen it, the highschool hierarchy. You can't be seen talking to these kind of friends because they will judge you the same. Like if you  are friends with the freak then you are one of them. I actually have had a close friend of mine who told me that. I was at shock. Ignore is the best thing to do because, you should be friends with who you are comfortable with and personality is all that matters. The labels are actually making people missing out on some amazing people.

So that's kind of 6 things that I learned in highschool, there are so much more like I can tell the lying signs or two faced backstabbing girls but I'll stick to that, it should be a basic knowledge to get through highschool.

That's what I can share today, see ya soon.
until the next guys

Review: Topshop Blush

Hello guys!!

So here I am, on a Monday.... and today I'll be reviewing my favorite blush from Topshop in color Head Over Heels. This is a cream blush, which I like for a blush, it looks so natural. This blush color is so good, I'll have to admit that this is my only blush that I have on me right now, daily basis and for formal occasions. I love it so much, the color is so pretty. What I find a turn off in a blush is that it doesn't match my face color like it doesn't look natural on me, and it's so hard to get a pink color that suits me. This one is doing pretty well, it is not so pigmented, I was kind of disappointed at first, but I realize that it's better that way, so we can build the kind of shade we want on our cheeks. I was having a hard time on how to put this on, I don't like using a brush for cream blush, because it gets sticky. I like to do it with my hand just like the instruction but I don't exactly dot it, I smear it all over then blend it. It makes me really look flushed and makes my face more 'alive'. I notice some glitters in it too, not too much, it doesn't make cheeks glittery and annoying after you blend it, it hardly can be recognized at all, but it makes me have a beautiful natural glow. It really put the color to my cheeks, and makes me look more healthy. So, I'm loving this! it's not even that expensive too so you should go try this! :)

so that's it from me today, I hope you have an amazing day.
until the next one guys!

Favorite Books and Movies #1

Hello guys! I know I haven't posted in a week, like you'd think I'm slacking at home and stuff but really this week has taken its toll on me. It's crazy hectic.
So today, I got no beauty post in mind, so instead I'll let you know about my favorites of books and movies.

So, I watched this movie just a week ago, and I fell in love with it. I didn't expect to be falling in love with it, I thought it was kind of my movies but I don't know if I'll like it and honestly the poster (is that what they call it?) of the movie didn't convince me at all, and on top of that I checked on rotten tomatoes and they slaughtered this movie. I watched it anyway. I'm so glad I did.

Okay, maybe at first the only one reason I wanted to watch it is because there is Alex Pettyfer in it, but well I'd have to say the cast in this movie is amazing. Okay, so first you have to know that I'm a sucker for a cheesy movie, for that romantic movie boyfriend. This movie makes me want to fall in love. It makes me want to find the guy, you know? It's incredibly cheesy but I just love it. I love the story, I love how the characters are well played, means they have good acting in this movie. Gabriella Wilde is definitely beautiful and innocent and Rhys Wakefield is incredible for playing Keith Butterfield. I don't know what it is about this movie that really stands out, other than just a story of a consuming first love, but it's good enough for me.

Another one that I got a chance to see this week is That Awkward Moment.

It's really good for a laugh. I love these kind of friendship between guys, you know? They stick together. These actors are my favorites, I can't imagine others to lay these characters. Miles being a usual stone-hearted guy, ac being a bit emotional and Michael being a doctor who will fight for a girl. I mean, I don't want to put story lines here but watch it. It will entertain you. It's really funny.

And with that, we move on to the books. I am a nerd guys, I can read two books in a day when I have nothing to do and it feels amazing. I got even a bit desperate when I don't have anything I like to read.

So first, this is like my favorite of 2014 (lol too early to tell) but I really like this book, it's called Hopeless, Okay so the composition of a perfect book for me are great characters, hot romantic book boyfriend and a great unexpected story. This book has it all. It surprised me, It made me laugh, It taught me a lot of things and man, I dig it. It's that good that I've re-read it for like probably 15 times. I have officially become a fan of Colleen Hoover. She is awesome. (not to mention or I have already but Dean Holder is worth every seconds of your time to get to know through this book and the second book ;) you're welcome)

The next one is called Perfect Chemistry. I'm one of those sucker who like this star-crossed love thing, good girl - bad boy stuff. This one is so perfect. I love that I can get two sides of the story with the POV of two main characters and it's just so great. It teaches that even though people can be different but they can be similar too in some ways. Honestly though, I wasn't too impressed with the cover but glad the whole book makes up for it and more.

So that's what I've been loving recently. It's not a review and I have to admit, it is not a good writing but I just wanna relax and share you guys these things. I have been crazy busy and I want to chop my head off sometimes but I'm hanging on here so, it's alright. Hope you guys have had a good week. Beauty post coming soon next! see ya!

How to and Review: Batiste Dry Shampoo

Hello guys!
yes, I'm on a roll, I have been posting three days! haha it's fun. Anyway, this  is my How to and Review of Batiste Dry Shampoo.
I am so grateful for this product to be exist because I need it lots of times to save my bad hair day.
I have such an oily scalp I guess, because It's so easy to get my hair looks greasy even the same day I just washed my hair, it gets really annoying.

I've heard all about this dry shampoo things that you don't have to use it with water and dry your hair, it's just as simple as spraying this on your hair and voila! no more greasiness! it totally can take only 5 minutes or less, the result is instant. I do this a lot when I don't have the time to wash my hair or when I'm out during the day and then my hair got greasy this really helps a lot. This product have ones that are smaller size than this so you can bring it in your bag everywhere.

So I got this when I was in UK, I was walking through the aisle of the drugstore and then I saw dry shampoo and the can just caught my eyes! how can it not, the packaging looks cute! haha, so then I bought two straight away.

This dry shampoo comes with lots of fragrance, mine are Lace and Paisley. These two smells so good. It doesn't smell like shampoo it smells like perfume on my hair haha, but it's definitely refreshing. On the Lace, it says it's seductive and elegant smell and on Paisley it says rich and elegant. These are definitely smells elegant, but I don't know about seductive... never tried to seduce anyone with this before! haha!

So this is how I apply this  to my hair

1. Shake the can
2. Place it about 30 cm from your hair
3. Spray it all over your hair (or just the greasy spot)
4. Put your fingers (or comb) through your hair, massage it a little bit

then you're all ready to go! Also, after I use this on my hair, I feel like it volumnize my hair too, but it does totally do the job of removing greasiness of your hair and make it look like fresh.

So that's for today guys!
enjoy your Sunday! until next time,

With love,

Intan Thalia
